THE ULTIMATE SEMINAR ABOUT FILM MUSIC June 9-11th

 

 

A unique event at the Culture House in the center of Stockholm with both live-concerts , debates , film-screenings and seminars.

 

Film music-seminars could easily be looked upon as something only for a small branch of film workers and could consist of technical matters that no one in a wider range of people would be interested in.

 

But with the world famous academic experts on film music ; Claudia Gorbman , Caryll Flinn and Michel Chion the subject has been lifted up to a matter of common interest . Film music is through them looked upon as a spiritual context to popular films . A way of understanding the times of our age and through modern technicalities like I-pod , Computer-games and MD-players a way to communicate with a young generation about a subject that is everywhere : The will to compose a subtext to our reality that is almost religious.

Seminar with Michel Chion; The most famous Sound theorist in the world

 

Concert with Flesh-Quartet playing the music and sounds of Psycho. The music by Bernard Herrmann performed by four piece string quartet and percussion.

 

First-time performance of Bill Frisell´s guitar arrangement of Psycho ( Johan Norberg

Seminar with Caryll Flinn on the representation through music in Films.

 

Debate on Computer games music with people from both the Industry and artists.

 

Seminar with japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu ; the composer for the Final Fantasy games and movies.

 

Concert with Computer Games music from Super Mario game to Final Fantasy by

 

Random

 

Presentation of Artist Johan Thurfjells Computergame “The Shine”

Debate and discussion with Johan Söderberg and Tomas Linddahl on the combination

 

Of computers and Composing music

 

Bar at the cinema Zita

 

Screening of japanese film The Happines of The Karakouris by Takeshi Mike

Ending Concert and PARTY with The Molgan Orchestra that plays Children TV –

 

melodies

 

 

 

The cost for the event is 250 SEK each day and 600 SEK for three days.
